Abstract

The current study is a theoretical and analytical one, which deals with the role of family in social control.
Additionally, the study shed the light on role that the family play in socialization through which the individual
learns; language, customs, traditions, norms and social values, with the aim of harmony and adaptation to
the social environment. This research consists of four sections, the first section is the general framework of the
research, which includes its problems, importance, objectives, methodology and concepts. The second section
explain with the theory (Edward Ross), of the social control, while the third one includes the role of the family
in social control. The final section deals with the conclusions, suggestions and recommendations of the study.
