Abstract

The history of growth and the basis of the westernization movement

The study entitled (The History of Emergence and the Basis of the Westernization Movement), is not hidden in the modern Kurdish literature that the Westernization movement as a literary movement appeared after the spring uprising in 1991 by three thinkers and writers of modernism in the cities of Erbil and Koysinjaq, and they are (Rostama Bajalan, Dr. Kamal Maarouf, Abbas Abdullah). In the city of Erbil on May 28, 2001, entitled (Towards the Westernization Movement), they issued their statement. At the beginning of the statement, they noted this and said (This creature is born in the light and by its will it turns towards darkness). These people tried to participate and interfere in the life of the Kurdish individual from their literary perspective. And they perform a local literary work, and they talk about the existing problems that occurred in the life of the Kurdish individual after the uprising, and they tried to show the true face of the reality that the Kurdish individual lives in. One of the essential points that those in the Westernization movement cared about, is that they chose the term (strangeness) because this term is in terms of Philosophical and literary has a broad dimension that can work in mostaspects of society, such as the aspect (the political, the social, the religious, the intellectual, the literary...) If we look at the results of this literary school such as (poetry, prose, the story), we see that they have paid attention to the strange aspect. Especially in their poetry, because poetry took up a wide space in the four magazines issued by the movement, and the poets were the ones who were able to express and mention this phenomenon through their poetry.
